This homeowner was faced with quite a soggy problem. The backyard wasn’t graded properly when the home was built and with settlement and silt deposits over the years, the small percentage of grade that the builder left had changed and failed. The area became an absorption area, causing strain on the sump pump and basement flooding. Our designer solved this problem by turning the area into an impermeable pavement in the form of a paver patio with correct installation and pitch. All the water now runs off into an existing french drain that is carried through the front yard and into the ditch. The homeowners have a beautiful, usable patio and fire pit. The patio was designed and installed by Fredericksburg Landscape and Techo-bloc Parsian pavers were used. The custom over- sized

This beautiful paver patio by Fredericksburg Landscape has it all! This impressive patio uses Techo-Bloc Elena pavers in Mojave Beige and includes a Rondo circle. We also added a border and retaining walls in a slightly different color – Sandlewood. The border, different colors and circle really make this a beautiful one of a kind creation! On one corner of this rectangular patio we placed a water feature consisting of water cascading down different sized river rock. A small light fixture was hidden in the stones to uplight the waterfall so it can be enjoyed at night as well. On the other corner is a fire pit, perfect to gather around and roast marshmallows. This design was finished with a few a small landscape beds and some gorgeous cast outdoor lighting fixtures.

This waterfeature, designed and installed by Fredericksburg Landscape, includes a pond with waterfall, landscape lighting, natural stone patio and walkway and landscape installation. This landscape was designed to block out the sights and sounds of the neighboring business’ and traffic of close by roads. The pond and waterfall fit the bill perfectly and the backyard is a peaceful destination for our clients. A water feature is a perfect addition to any landscape. They provide a tranquil, healing escape and are easy to maintain. Those of you who have small children may like to look into a pond-less water feature, which are becoming very popular. This client chose to raise Koi, which are gorgeous fish that add so much to the beauty of the pond. These pictures were taken just after installation, so you can imagine how lush and beautiful the plantings will look once mature. We also installed outdoor lighting fixtures made by Cast, which enable you to enjoy your outdoor living spaces in the evening hours as well.

Here is a tasteful approach to tackling a severely sloped foundation. We used retaining walls and plantings to control erosion and to add visual impact to the front of this home. Retaining Walls are constructed out of Techo-Bloc Mini Creta in Sandlewood.
